LyriQ is busy getting acquainted here, meeting all the furry faces…dogs and cats… and people…
She has stolen our hearts, just wait until you meet her…and she steals yours.
LyriQ competed as a Baby Puppy at the MCA in Winnipeg in the summer, alongside Rio and each shared in the winnings. LyriQ competed and won her class in Sweepstakes.
Fall of 2024 both girls also competed at Wheat City, in Brandon in November and got a bit more practice in the ring.
Fast forward to the Crocus show in February (2025) in Brandon and LyriQ earned her first 3 points, going Winners Female, Best Of Winners, Best Opposite, Best Puppy and Best Puppy in Sporting Group…she competed for Best Puppy in Show as well, but it wasn't our day.
LyriQ's show schedule for this summer is Regina, May 17 & 18, Balgonie June 20, 21 & 22, Balgonie July 11, 12 & 13th 2025. LyriQ finished her Championship in Balgonie at the PCA show in June, under Judge Mary White, from a competative lineup of 14 Goldens. At 15 months, she still is young to be in the Specials ring, but decided to let her give it a try. We are loving how this gal is turning out. So excited to see what her future holds!
The newly added July Wascana show did not disappoint! We had a bit of everything this weekend from rain to shine and hot hot hot. LyriQ started the weekend off in 12-18 months and ended up being moved up Sunday to compete with the Champions. She went Reserve Winners Female once, Winners Female 3x, Best of Winners once, Select Bitch once and Best of Opposite Sex Once. There was a nice sized entry of 11 Goldens. So proud of our little girl, she is maturing nicely. Her wins as a Special gave her 5 points towards her Grand Championship. Fast forward to 2026, we have participated in the ReginaKOC, (Select) PCA, (Best of Opposite, Select 2X) and the Wascana shows in May June and July 2026 - LyriQ has added some more points going Best of Opposite, and Select in the first two shows. We are waiting on CKC confirmation of her points total but by my count, are at around 15 points.
LyriQ, Austin and I tried out Sprinters in August 2024. LyriQ wasn't sure what we wanted the first run, but quickly caught on to the game. She finished the weekend with her Novice Sprinters Title achieving the 150 points needed with scores of 43, 45, 39 and 40.
To date, at Sprinters she has scores of 43, 45, 39, 40, 39, 42, 40, 27 = 315 points towards the next Sprinter level required which is 500 points.
