Stud Service Contract

 1. Prior to the breeding the stud dogs owner will be provided with the following information about the bitch :

  1. Copy of OFA Hip Dysplasia/Elbow Certificate
  2. Copy of current eye exam performed by a certified Ophthalmologist showing results as normal - Ryker is Normal with a Breeder Option
  3. Copy of a Cardio-vascular exam done by a board certified  Cardiologist 
  4. Copy of the pedigree
  5. Copy of a negative HCM test, as Ryker is a CARRIER 
  6. Copy of the bitch’s CKC or AKC registration
  7. Photos of the bitch, stacked and head shot

2. The fee for the stud service is $2250. A $500 deposit is due when the chilled semen is delivered to the bitch owner or when the bitch is delivered to the stud dog owner with the remainder due within two weeks after the birth of the litter. The bitch will be bred twice unless otherwise agreed upon. 

3. At least 3 live puppies will constitute a litter. If less than 3 live puppies are born in the litter, there remaining stud service will be $500 per live puppy. If no puppies result from this service, no additional stud service fee is due and one of the following mutually agreeable arrangements will be made between the stud dogs owner and the bitch owner: 

  1. The same bitch may be returned in her next heat cycle assuming the stud dog is available
  2. Another bitch may be substituted ( see section 1 for requirements ) 
  3. If mutual agreement on one of the above is not reached or if the stud dog is not available, the stud dog owner will return half the deposit amount. 

4. All veterinary expenses incurred by the stud dog owner and related to the breeding and care of the bitch is the responsibility of the bitch’s owner. Full disclosure of these expenses will be provided to the bitch owner. 

5. The stud dog owner will sign ( or electronically sign ) the CKC or AKC application for litter registration once all the stud service fees, veterinary expenses and other related fees have been paid in full. 

6. The bitch may be boarded with the stud dog during the time of breeding if mutually agrees upon by the stud dog owner and the bitch owner in advance. If boarding will be for 5 days and is included in the stud service. If longer boarding arrangements are necessary /requested, the fee will be $30 per day. 

7. The stud dog owner will provide a comfortable and safe environment for the bitch during her stay for the breeding. Instructions regarding feeding and general care will be followed carefully. 

8. The stud dog owner is neither legally or financially responsible for the actions of the bitch nor for her injury or loss while she is staying with the stud dog owner for breeding. 

9. Any destruction, uncontrollable or otherwise unusual behaviour on the part of the bitch will be reported to the bitch owner and may be cause for the bitch to be returned. 

10. The stud dog owner encourages the bitch owner to find suitable, safe homes for all puppies resulting from this breeding. The bitch owner is asked to provide copies of the full names and addresses of all individuals who purchase a puppy resulting from this breeding. If, for any reason, a puppy is not longer wanted in any of the placed homes, the stud dog owner is to be contacted : If the bitch owner cannot take the puppy back himself/herself the stud dog owner will take the puppy back. 

11. Puppies resulting from this breeding will NOT be sold to pet shops, used in auctions or fundraisers, puppy mills, brokers/agents.

12. Puppies resulting from this breeding will NOT be sold to individuals outside of Canada or the USA without written approval in advance of the stud dog owner.
