Phoenix is from the Pirate Litter of 11 puppies, born January 27, 2025 with parents : Sailor and Pizzazz from Hillock's Golden Retrievers in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. Bred by Tammy Tomlinson. Phoenix has met all the furry critters at our home and is settling in nicely. He is clever, and outgoing and so fun to be around. And a stunner already. 

He will be starting his show career in the Baby Puppy Class in June 2025. We look forward to seeing him strut his stuff in the ring…

We intentionally spelled BUCKaneer with ‘BUCK’ as a nod to our first BUCK… owned and loved by Mary & Cliff Bluechardt, and shown to win the Canadian National in 2013 by his best pal, Tory Clark. He has big paws to fill, but by looking at him, I don't think that will be a problem for this special boy.

Phoenix particpated at the PCA in Balgonie in Baby Puppy Category and had a lot of fun doing so. He was the only Golden Baby Puppy so won his “class” all three shows.  He is a lovely little man and we are excited to watch him develop. 
The new Wascana show in Balgonie was a chance to see how much Phoenix had grown since last month, a lot is the answer. He was an old pro at this show, knowing when to get up on the table for a brush out, when to strut his stuff in the ring and when to chill out with his favourite stuffie and fan in the crate in-between shows, and grabbing a nap here and there. This is his last show as a Baby Puppy.
